Say No to GLOP in Leadership Training! (Video Blog)

It’s so easy to GLOP! What is GLOP? It stands for General Labeling Of People. When was the last time you said something like “Man, he is just so stubborn!” Yep, that’s Glopping. You just label the person as “stubborn” instead of identifying and describing the specific behavior, which makes it difficult to confront the person and to then resolve issues or conflicts. In leadership training, it is important to stress avoiding labels. Tim M., an L.E.T. Trainer, uses one of his past experiences to illustrate the advantages of GLOP avoidance in effective leadership.
