Leadership Training: Enduring the Test of Time (Video Blog)

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Gordon Training International. Bill Stinnett, Ph.D. (L.E.T. Master Trainer) and Linda Adams (President of GTI) discuss how Leader Effectiveness Training–the foundations of which were actually developed in the 1950’s by Dr. Thomas Gordon, was a precursor to GTI. L.E.T., a leadership training program that has been tested over half a century was also the seed for another program developed by Dr. Gordon in 1962 – Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.). Dr. Gordon saw that many of the same concepts, such as Active Listening, I-Messages, and Communication Roadblocks could be applied to the parent-child relationship as well as the leader-team member relationship. Both programs have endured the test of time because they are based on fundamental principles of relationships – effective communication.
