Gordon Training News – March 2012

50 years company anniversary leadership trainingGordon Training International is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary as a pioneering human relations training company. Dr. Thomas Gordon founded GTI in 1962 after extensive research as a psychologist in the field of conflict resolution and leadership training. He created what is known as the “Gordon Model” – a set of communication skills that help people in different settings (work, home, and school) to resolve relationship conflicts. As a result, the following programs were developed to address the needs of each of those environments: Leader Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.), Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.), and Teacher Effectiveness Training (T.E.T.).

As part of the 50th year celebration, in October 2012, there will be a once-in-a-lifetime international forum of L.E.T. trainers and licensees that will combine over 500 years of leadership training experience under one roof.

“In this day and age, it’s not often you hear of an organization lasting this long. We think we have because of the incredibly profound effect our model has on people’s lives.” says Michelle Adams, GTI Vice President.
