Gordon Training News – Summer 2014

Our resourceful Representative for Mexico, Mr. Lauro Macias Ortega, has arranged for the Spanish edition of our Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) textbook to be published in e-book format on Amazon — and it’s now available! The Spanish language editions of our Leader Effectiveness Training (L.E.T.), Teacher Effectiveness Training (T.E.T.) and Be Your Best (B.Y.B.) books will soon follow.

On September 5th, the 10th Anniversary of P.E.T. was celebrated in Estonia, hosted by the Representative for Estonia, NPO Perekoolitusuhing Sina ja Mina. In honor of this notable milestone, President of Gordon Training International, Linda Adams, sent a video message which was received by over 60 attendees of this celebratory event.

10th Anniversary of P.E.T. in Estonia

Look who’s on national television! Our very own International Master Trainer, Steve Emmons, was featured recently in an interview on national TV in Bulgaria while he was there conducting a P.E.T. Instructor Training Workshop with our Bulgarian Representative, Darina Georgieva. In his interview, he discusses the complexities and psychology of parenting, a la the Gordon Model.

We would also like to pay homage to Lola Mavor Green, who was a long-time Representative of P.E.T. in Australia and has just recently passed away.  As of this year, Lola had trained 700 Instructors and over 4,200 course participants. In a message for her funeral, Linda Adams wrote: “Lola was one of the first people to get involved with P.E.T. and the other Gordon courses when they came to Australia. Through all the years since, she worked tirelessly with passion to teach the courses, train new Instructors and keep the ETIAQ (Effectiveness Training Institute of Australia-Queensland) organization thriving.

Queensland was usually the most active and successful of all the Australian states and Lola deserves a great deal of credit for that. There are a few people in the world who have been outstanding ambassadors of the Gordon Model and Lola is definitely one of them. We are so fortunate that she decided to invest her time, energy and passion in this work and we will be forever grateful to her. May she rest in peace.”

On the other side of the world, Jose Taramona of Colegio Jean Le Boulch in La Molina, Peru has just become the Representative for Peru for our P.E.T., T.E.T. and R.C.S. programs. We are excited about their upcoming plans to host the inaugural workshops in each of these programs early next year.

Our Representative for Finland, Markus Talvio, visited our headquarters in Solana Beach, CA recently, coming all the way from Helsinki. Markus and his team in Finland have scheduled a follow-up training for the Finnish instructors, which will be conducted by Steve Emmons with the goal of emphasizing the development and practice of new learning activities.

And this month we’ve got P.E.T. classes starting in Cleveland (OH), Redway (CA), Bend (OR), Dawson Creek (BC, Canada), Claremore (OK) and Las Vegas (NV). For L.E.T., classes are taking place this month in Taunton and Woburn (MA), Plant City (FL), Glen Allen and Toano (VA), Delta (BC, Canada), Sarralbe, France and London (ON, Canada) – and a Conflict Resolution Workshop in Randburg, South Africa!

The Gordon Model is literally happening all over the place!
